Obituary of Eugene Vernacchio, SR

Eugene "Gene" Vernacchio Sr. On Friday, February 26, 2021, Eugene "Gene" Vernacchio Sr., loving husband and father passed away at the age of 63. Gene was born on June 19, 1957 to Joseph and Dolores Vernacchio. He owned and operated his transmission repair shop in Williamstown, NJ for almost 30 years. On June 22, 1986, he married his beloved wife, Janet. They raised 1 son and 3 daughters together. Gene loved cars, car shows, the Flyers, casinos, music, and spending time with his family. One of his joys in life was customizing his 1968 RS Chevrolet Camaro that he had since he was 16 years old. You could always find him working on home improvement projects around the house. Gene loved going to Cape May and riding the Cape May-Lewes Ferry with his family. He liked flying his drone on the beach and going to the boardwalk. He also enjoyed the company of the many pets in his life, including his dog, Gracie. Gene is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janet (Ferrari); his 3 daughters, Christy, Gina, and Melissa; his grandchildren, Benjamin Burns, Vincent, Damian, and Isabella Vernacchio; his sisters, Maryann (Charlie) Seifert, Jacqueline Vernacchio-Geriot; mother-in-law, Marie Ferrari, brother-in-law, Larry Ferrari Jr.; sister-in-law, Karen (Tim) Bonjean and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dolores Vernacchio, his son, Eugene "Geneboy" Vernacchio Jr.; his brothers, Jimmy, Pete and Joey Vernacchio; his sister, Cathy Vernacchio and his father-in-law, Larry Ferrari Sr. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm with funeral services at 2:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Eugene to the Healey Center for ALS at Mass General Hospital and mailed to the Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114, Attention: Kylie Baruffi.
