Donald R. Giacomoni, 76 of Vineland, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his late residence, surrounded by his family. Born in Vineland, he was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Vineland High School, Class of 1954.
Donald was owner and president of Johnson Body Shop, Inc., in Vineland and a past owner of D & B Auto Shop. His past and current memberships are Garden State 50's Auto Club, multiple archery clubs, where he enjoyed shooting the bow and arrow, North Italy Club, Vineland Recreational Club for many years and an officer, Cruising Classics Car Club, Nostalgia Nights Car Club, Studebaker Car Club, SJ Autobody Association.
He also enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Nascar, Saturday drives to Lancaster, Pa, auto swap meets, motorcycle rides, playing pool, woodworking, car shows, Sunday breakfasts, 50's music, playing softball and lived life to the fullest. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with all of his family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Agnes; daughter, Donna Richards of Monroeville, NJ; granddaughter, Amanda Richards of Pennsville, NJ; grandson, Jonathon Richards of Monroeville, NJ; great granddaughter, Julia Richards; brother, Martin Giacomoni (wife Anne), of Vineland, NJ; nieces, Carol Giacomoni and Debbie Giacomoni (husband Joe Isabella); great nephew, Nicholas Isabella.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 6pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Saturday at the funeral home from 4pm to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cumberland Co. S.P.C.A., 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360.
