Obituary of Glenn D. Lucas
Please share a memory of Glenn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On June 19, 2023, Glenn Lucas, 67, passed unexpectedly from a cardiac episode, surrounded by his loved ones.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lyla (née Engesser); children, Shena Seppanen (Shawn), Stephen Beamer (Brandie), Naomi Gilch (Mark), and Tabitha Haeser (Ken); his grandchildren, Nora, Jeff, Kalel, Noah, Kai, Truly, Colton, Gauge, and Tristan; siblings, Bruce Kidd and Janice Lucas; and many loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Birdie (née Zaluske, d. 1990); parents, George and Mildred Lucas; and brother, Gary Kidd.
Glenn was a life-long resident of Franklin Township, NJ, where he attended Delsea Regional High School and was an accomplished competitive cross country runner. He carried his love of remaining active outdoors until his final days being an avid daily walker, enjoying the hobby of metal detecting, and visiting the Delaware Water Gap and Batsto Village as often as he could. Glenn was a car enthusiast and loved attending car shows. He enjoyed history and was well-known for his dad jokes and incredibly corny sense of humor. Most importantly, Glenn loved Jesus. Together with his wife, he belonged to the Harvest Lighthouse Ministries Church family in Vineland.
Glenn was a dutiful worker most recently at Newfield National Bank, as well as a self-employed computer technician, and previously at Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corporation. He was also well-known within the community, especially for his kind smile and ability to be an expert conversationalist about anything, everything, and even nothing at all! Glenn will be missed dearly and deeply by many.
Services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Noon, at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
