Obituary of Reinaldo Jordan
Reinaldo "Ray" Jordan, of Vineland, previously of Pleasantville, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Ray was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on December 9, 1942, and lived in South Jersey most of his life. He was formerly employed at Zaberer's Restaurant as the head chef, and as a blackjack dealer with Bally's for several years. He later ventured out to pursue entrepreneurship as the owner and operator of the Inlet Market, the El Latino Restaurant, and other small businesses.
Ray enjoyed tending his garden and keeping his property in immaculate condition. He also enjoyed his building projects, but most of all he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather continually devoted to family and friends.
Ray was predeceased by his former wife, Margaret Perry; and later by the love of his life, Iris (Elba) Jordan; his father, Carmelo Jordan; his mother, Rosa Cabrera; brother Guillermo Jordan; and stepchildren Elvis (Michael) and Sonia Velez.
He is survived by his sisters, Olga Nieves (Alcides) and Elizabeth Perez; his son, Raymond Jordan; daughters Shanon Pierce (Darren) and Marlena Rivera (Andy); stepdaughters Sylvia "Suzy" Velez (Tony) and Alice "Daisy" Velez (Phil); along with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Divine Mercy Parish, 23 West Chestnut Ave., Vineland. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
