Obituary of Jose David Cortes Jr.
Jose D. Cortes Jr. (aka Macho), 40, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on May 17, 2024 in Philadelphia, PA.
Macho was born in Vineland, NJ to Jose David and Carmen Rosa Cortes on January 11, 1984. He went to high school at Vineland High School/CC TECH and graduated in 2002. Macho went on to follow his passion of being a chef at several restaurants and other locations, and eventually earned a certificate in Computer Science from DeVry. He was a tow truck driver and owned/operated JJ-Hook Towing for the past several years. Macho enjoyed cooking, fishing, making others laugh, spending time with his son, family, and friends. He also loved baseball, football and was an avid Giants Fan.
Macho is survived by his son, Jeshuah J. Cortes, of Vineland, NJ; parents, Carmen Rosa and Jose D. Cortes Sr.; sister, Sheila Walderrama (Daniel) of Sicklerville, NJ; sister, Melissa Cortes (Andrew Acevedo) of Vineland, NJ; nephews, Jayce, Javier, Caleb and Andrew; nieces, Amariah and Melody.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Casimiro Cortes and Mauricia Delgado; maternal grandparents, Jose A. Ramos and Rosalina Borrero.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at the Vineland Spanish Pentecostal Church Assemblies of God, 512 S. Third St., Vineland, NJ 08360, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery, 550 N. Valley Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360.
