John Peter Capizola Sr., age 72, passed away on July 24, 2024, in his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey. Born on Christmas Day in 1951 in Vineland, John lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for sports, and a successful career in business.
John graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1970 and attended Glassboro State College. He began his career as a salesman for Frito Lay before venturing into entrepreneurship with Cap's Snacks and Barry Personnel, both of which he owned and operated successfully.
Family was the cornerstone of John's life. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Denise (Biagi) Capizola; his daughter, Michelle (Capizola) Giercyk and her husband Stanley Giercyk III; his son, John Capizola Jr. and his wife Giovanna Capizola. He was a cherished grandfather to Alyssa, Marco, and Ryan. John is also survived by his brother, Gary and wife Cindy Capizola; his uncle, John Polizzi; his sister-in-law, Patricia Mascola; and his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Gina Biagi, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Irma (Polizzi) Capizola.
An avid sports fan, John loved playing basketball and baseball in his youth and was a passionate New York Yankees fan. He collected sports memorabilia and enjoyed attending rock and roll concerts. His community involvement was evident in his commitment to the East Vineland Little League and the Vineland Midget Football Leauge, where he served as a coach and board member.
John was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Vineland. His faith and community were integral parts of his life.
The family will receive friends and relatives at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ, on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to East Vineland Little League, P.O. BOX 250, Vineland, NJ 08362, honoring John's love for baseball and his dedication to youth sports.
DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home of Vineland, New Jersey, is assisting the family during this time. John's life was a testament to his love for his family, his community, and the joys he found in his many interests and pursuits. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
