Obituary of Ida Diaz
Ida “Ollie” Diaz, age 58, passed away on July 26, 2024, in her hometown of Vineland, New Jersey.
Born in Vineland, Ida was known for her vivacious spirit and resilience, having battled multiple sclerosis for many years. She was a devoted mother and true fashionista who never let her challenges diminish her zest for life or her immaculate sense of style.
Ida graduated from Vineland High School and built a commendable career of over 22 years as a security specialist at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, followed by 10 years in corrections in Baltimore. Her commitment to her roles was evident in the dedication and professionalism she brought to her work every day.
A faithful member of Divine Mercy Parish, Ida’s faith played a significant role in her life, providing her strength and comfort through her trials. Her life was a testament to her fighting spirit and her deep love for her family and friends. She was the life of the party, often found with her hands in the air, lost in music at family gatherings.
Ida is survived by her daughter, Cabrina Hernandez; bonus daughter Kimberly Roberts; brother and sister-in-law, Carmelo and Maritta Diaz; sisters Irene Morales, Candi Diaz (and husband Mitchell Fields), Evelyn Mancini, and Marilyn Diaz; along with four nieces, six nephews, 20 great-nieces, and eight great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estanisla and Monico Diaz; and her brother, Johnny Diaz.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 12:00pm until 1:30pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:30pm, at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Interment will be held privately.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMarco-Luisi, ensuring that Ida’s final farewell is as dignified and heartfelt as her life was. Memories, thoughts, and prayers may be extended to her family by visiting dlfuneral.com
