Obituary of Cheryl Galarza
Cheryl Ann (Simpkins) Galarza—“Sherry” to all who knew her—of Vineland, NJ, departed this earth and entered God’s Paradise on July 30, 2024; she was 72 years of age.
Sherry was born in Millville, NJ on March 26, 1952. Sacrificially devoted to family and a vigorously hard worker, she was employed by both Sears and PNC Bank for many years. Outside of work, Sherry will always be remembered for being selfless, open-hearted, kind, nonjudgmental, brave, comforting, and generous to the point of fault. She had many loves in life—the most precious of them being time with family, laughing, music, sweets, Disney nostalgia, and providing her children and grandchildren with unforgettable Christmases. Aside from these blessings that marked Sherry’s character, she also possessed some “well-kept secrets”: a soft, honeyed singing voice and a natural knack for writing moving lyrics.
Sherry Galarza is survived by her husband, Al Galarza, of Vineland; daughter, Heather Galarza; daughter, Tennille Allen, and her husband Toby; son, Troy, and his wife Karina; and seven grandchildren: Brandon and Kelsey Hewitt; Justin Galarza; Morgan, Connor, and Jacob Allen; and Maite Galarza Sarabia. In addition to these, she leaves behind brothers Bobby and Mike Husted, sister Jaye Griffin, and many loving relatives and priceless lifelong close friends. She was predeceased by her parents and most recently by her older brother, William “Bill” Simpkins.
Sherry's viewing will be this Friday, Aug 2nd at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home (2755 S Lincoln Ave, Vineland, NJ 08361) from 1:30-2:30 followed by a service. Burial will be at Siloam Cemetery in Vineland.
