Obituary of Zelda M. Popolo

Please share a memory of Zelda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Zelda (Sally) Popolo, who went with the Lord on 9-21-2024 at the age of 96. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born and raised in Johnstown, PA in 1928 before moving to N.J. in the early 1950s, she was predeceased by both her parents; her daughter, Linda Harris; infant son baby boy Popolo; and grandson Bobby Dayton, Jr. She was the last survivor of her 11 siblings. She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, sons Gary (Dee Dee), Jay, Bruce and David; her daughters Brenda, Tina and Kim; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the epitome of unconditional love, always putting her family first and embracing us with open arms. Her love knew no boundaries and it provided us with strength, comfort and unwavering support throughout our lives. Her nurturing nature extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a heart that welcomed others with open arms, offering kindness, compassion and a listening ear to anyone who needed it. She was an avid bingo player, loved listening to music, doing puzzles and made friends wherever she went. As a single mother of 8 kids, she accomplished so much with so little as a faithful believer in Christ our Lord and Savior. A celebration of her life will take place with friends and family on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 700 East Landis Ave., Vineland N.J. 08360. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, Vineland. Memories, thoughts, and prayers may be extended to her family by visiting dlfuneral.com
