Obituary of Cristina Rivera

Beloved Homemaker and Matriarch

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cristina Rivera on October 20, 2024, at the age of 82. Cristina was born on July 26, 1942, in Lares, PR, to Isabel Mercado and Luis A. Rivera. She was a devoted homemaker.

Cristina, affectionately known as Doña Monin, brightened everyone's day with her radiant smile and enchanting singing voice. She enjoyed spending time at the community center, engaging in word finds and drawing. Despite her courageous battle with RA, Cristina's unwavering determination and unrelenting love for her family and friends inspired all who knew her.

She was a dedicated member of the Primera Iglesia Misionera for many years until its relocation. Cristina is preceded in death by her mother, Isabel Mercado; father, Luis A. Rivera; husband, Ezequiel; children, Maria Soto "Tita" and Daniel Calderon "Mollo"; and six siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Jose Soto "Bazooka" and José A. Soto "Freddy"; daughters, Janette Muñoz and Elizabeth Gonzalez "Molla"; stepdaughter, Carmen Delia; daughter-in-law, Nelida Soto; son's-in-law, Javier Muñoz and Freddie González; Tilson; and 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, with another great-great-grandchild on the way.

Cristina will forever reside in our hearts. She is now in God's loving care.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:30am followed by a funeral service at 11:30am at DeMarco – Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ. Cristina will be laid to rest at Siloam Cemetery 550 N. Valley Ave. Vineland, NJ.
