Matthew Anthony Cairone, Sr., 99 of Newfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at his late residence, surrounded by his family. Born in Glassboro, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of the Newfield/Malaga area. He was an independent hauler and truck driver for over 60 years. Mattie was a life member and founder of the Malaga Bear Cat Gun Club and Sons of Italy Lodge # 2470. He prepared food for the St. Mary's Church in Malaga for the Feast of the Assumption. Mattie enjoyed deer hunting, cooking, playing cards, was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, watching the weather station and gave every one of his granddaughters away in marriage. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank Cairone and Mary Grace (DeMatteo), 3 sisters; Jennie Francisco, Rose Vassallo and Angelina Zuener. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Madeline (Ingalzio) Cairone of Newfield 1 son: Matthew A. Cairone, Jr. of Pleasantville, NJ 2 daughters: Mary Reola of Galloway Twp., NJ Judy Johnson of Vineland 6 grandchildren: Cynthia Henes, Denise Shiomos, Norman Reda, Jr., Kimberly A. McGuire, Andrea L. Hill and Michael L. Russo, Jr. 8 great grandchildren 2 brothers: Louis Cairone, Sr. and Joseph Cairone both of Malaga, NJ 1 sister: Viola Coia of Buena Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:15pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Newfield. Friends will be received on Saturday morning from 11am to 1:15pm at the funeral home.
