Obituary of Richard G. Solazzo

Richard G. Solazzo 61 - of Vineland, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 after an extended and courageous battle of cancer. Rich was born and raised in Vineland, and was a life-long resident, graduating Vineland High School in 1971. He graduated from Richard Stockton College and proudly served his country in the National Guard for six years. He enjoyed golfing, going to the Philadelphia Eagles games, going to the movies, air-guitaring to the Rolling Stones and his fish. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren who absolutely adored him. He often told stories of his friends at the North Italy Club where he enjoyed spending time. He was currently employed at the Landis Sewage Authority as a Senior Sewer System Employee. Rich was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore "€œSi"€ Solazzo and Elizabeth (Bautz) Solazzo. He is survived by his sister; Patricia Olivio, two daughters; Shawna Dooley and Jill Petitt (Matthew), four loving grandchildren; Kayla, Dylan, Jaida, and Logan, close friend; Robin and a huge group of caring and amazing friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm at the funeral home. To celebrate Richard'€™s life, everyone is invited back to the North Italy Club following the service.
