Obituary of Gina W. Pierce
Gina W. Pierce (nee Vann), 66, of Bridgeton, NJ, passed away on January 29, 2014 in Penn Presbyterian Hospital Philadelphia, PA.
Gina was born in Macon, GA to Arthur and Aurdean (Collier) Vann on May 17, 1947. She went to Bridgeton High School and graduated in 1966. She worked in management for Prudential /Aetna until retirement. She then obtained a certificate in food service at CCTEC. Upon graduating she was hired by CCTEC as a food service employee where she remained until her passing. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She received various awards and honors in her work with the Bridgeton Exchange Club and the Professional Chef's Association of South Jersey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Aurdean (Collier) Vann, an aunt Hester Vann, one niece, Judith Sease and her lifelong friend, Alma Camp.
Gina is survived by her husband of 47 years, David Pierce and her three daughters, Stacy King (Timmie) of Vineland, NJ; Tammie Pierce (Ivan Kelly) of Fairton, NJ and Donna Pierce-Fogg (Ronald) of Somers Point, NJ.; one brother, Dwight Vann of Bridgeton, NJ.; five sisters, Kathy White of Lindenwold, NJ; Valerie White (Gregory), Vanessa Vann and Regina Vann all residing in Bridgeton, NJ; and Karen Vann-Anderson (Duane) of Willingboro, NJ. Gina is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Kyrsten Pierce, Kaylynn Pierce, Timmie King Jr., Tierra King, David King, Veronica Fogg, Trystan Kelly, Tiana Fogg, Jordan Kelly, Elijah Fogg and five great-grandchildren, Kierra Morris, La'Jourah King, Honesty Brown, Domani King, and Destiny Brown, a host of nieces and nephews and her lifelong friends, Sherry Kakol-Birch, Rosie Topeka, Sarah Harmon and Carrie Burden.
Funeral services will be held at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00am with Reverend Jeanette Watty of John Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton, NJ. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm and again on Tuesday morning from 9am to 11am.
