Obituary of Jose Antonio Serrano

Jose Antonio Serrano, age 54, passed away unexpectedly at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden on February 12, 2014. Jose was born in Neptune, New Jersey to Hector and Patria Serrano. He attended Vineland High School and later went on to get his GED. He was married to Denise Bennett in 1996 and they went on to have two children, Joseph and Alysa. Jose was a dedicated hard working machinist at Opex Corporation in Moorestown for the past 10 years. He was best known to all for his great sense of humor. Jose was a caring and loving person that enjoyed spending time with his family especially his children whom were his pride and joy. Jose was predeceased by his mother Patria R. Serrano. He is survived by his wife, Denise Bennett; son, Joseph Serrano; daughter, Alysa Serrano; father, Hector M. Serrano of Vineland; sisters, Iris M. Serrano of Rosenhayn, Lillian Serrano of Rosenhayn and Aida Serrano of Vineland; Brothers, Hector M Serrano Jr of Vineland and Eliezer (Ivette) Serrano of Mt Royal. He is also survived by his mother in-law, Barbara Bennett; nephews and nieces, Ezekiel (Mildred) Colon, Eliezer Colon, Laquisha Jones, Tamarah Jones, Tianna Berkley, Nicholas Serrano, Alec Serrano, Isaias Serrano, Antonio Jones and Alezander Jones as well as 3 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave, Vineland. Jose will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday from 11am to 1pm followed by services by Pastor Tony Cotto.
