Obituary of Daisy Cortez

Daisy Cortez, 56 of Vineland, passed away Thursday February 20, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Born in Vineland, she was a lifelong resident and attended Vineland High School. She was employed at Botanica San Lazaro, Vineland and Riggins Oil Company. Daisy enjoyed photography, videos, arts and crafts. She was an avid car fan, loved music and was an animal lover. She was a videographer and photographer for The Puerto Rican Festival and a member of the Sol Borincano. For being small in stature she was the biggest life of the party. Daisy loved being surrounded by family and loved ones. She is survived by: Her children; Wanda Somerville-Guzman and Jimmielee Guzman her grandchildren; Izanae Somerville, Demitrius Somerville, Samara Somerville, Trinity Somerville and Jennieli Guzman Her life partner of 17 years, Maria Ortiz Parents; Encarnacion Frao, Eduvije Cortes and Angela Bermudez Siblings; Eddie Cortes, Evelyn Martinez, Gilbert Cortes, Nitza Muniz and Luis Aborno Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 6:30pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
