Obituary of David C. Harmon

David C. Harmon, 76 of Vineland, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was born in Tarentum, PA, raised in Newfield, NJ by his mother, Margaret (Moore) Blandino and his step father, Steve Blandino, and later resided in Vineland. He was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 1955 and was one of the original "Newfield Boys". He had the ability to make anyone laugh and was voted Class Clown. He later attended Temple University for two years. As a young man, he played in the local men's baseball league and later in life he was a certified Scuba Diver. He owned and managed Caterina Hardware on Landis Ave for 20 years and was in the retail business all of his life. He retired as a Captain of the National Guard 50th Armored Division. His passions were his family, his pets, golf and he was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He is predeceased by his father, Clyde Harmon, his mother, Margaret and his step father, Steve. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Melinda (Caterina) Harmon, his son, Bruce Harmon and his wife Tina (Olivero) and their daughters, Kasey and Korri, and his daughters, Kathleen Burris and her husband Robert and Laurie Price and her husband Robert. He is also survived by an aunt and several cousins. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 8pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Relatives and friends will be received on Friday from 6PM to 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Vineland SPCA, 1244 N.
