Obituary of Walentina Wydra

Walentina Wydra peacefully passed away early Saturday morning, March 15, 2014. She was 88 years old and a resident of Bishop McCarthy Nursing Home in Vineland, NJ. She was born in Lozova, Ukraine on July 15, 1925 and had moved to Germany early in her life; where she had worked as a teacher for several years. Germany is also where she had met her husband, Mychajlo. Shortly after meeting they were wed on May 5, 1945. Walentina and Mychajlo had four children in Germany before migrating to America in September 1956, where they had two more children. They had settled and lived most of their lives in the Newark & Irvington area of NJ. She had lived in Florida for a brief period of time before moving to Vineland in 2006. Walentina worked for many years as teacher's aide at Chancellor Avenue School in Irvington, NJ. She loved word search puzzles, bingo, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and was a huge fan of Professional Wrestling. She was an excellent cook and was always adamant that everyone ate to their heart's content. Walentina was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening, March 19th, from 6pm to 7:30pm and followed by a service from 7:30pm to 8:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ. She will be rejoined with her late husband, Mychajlo Wydra, Thursday morning at 11:30am at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, NJ. Walentina will be greatly missed by the people whose hearts she had touched.
