Michael V. Platania (George Bolte) 64 of Vineland, died Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Hospice wing of St. Francis Hospital in Delaware.
Michael was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Army from 1969 to 1972. He worked many years as a salesman in the food industry and later became an independent distributor of the Atlantic City Press and the Daily Journal.
Michael was well known as a beer drinker and a hell raiser and will be sadly missed by all.
He is predeceased by his parents, William V. and Rose, brothers, James, Sr. and Thomas, Sr.
He is survived by his son, Matthew (Christine) and daughter, Andrea J. (Dave) of Vineland. His loyal ex-wife; Paula J. Frie, brother; William J. (Mary), nieces; Irene and Heather of Vineland and other extended family. Best buddies; Tom and Kate Riggione, Joe Garman and Bruce Swanson.
Memorial services will be private and held at a later date at The Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Bridgeton. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
