Cheryl Ann Lyden, 58, of Newfield passed away on Wednesday August 27th, 2014 surrounded by her family. Cheryl was the loving daughter of Anthony and Sarah (Scarpa) Van Hook of Newfield. She was a graduate of Vineland High School and attended Cumberland and Gloucester County Colleges. Cheryl was a certified nurse's aide, an LPN and an EMT. She was an active member of the Newfield Ambulance Corps. She was employed by Bayada Home Health and also worked as a bus driver and aide for Kerry Bus Company at Creative Achievement Academy. Cheryl loved to shop and attend family functions.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Christopher; her parents, Anthony and Sarah Van Hook; her mother and father in-law, Russell and Alfreda Lyden; her brother, Anthony (Butch) Van Hook; her brother-in-law, Raymond Cavagnaro; sister-in-law, Maryanna Lyden and cousin, Hamilton Blackshear.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 37 years, James A. Lyden; son, James A. Lyden Jr of Newfield, daughter-in-law, Audrey Martellio- Lyden of Vineland; her sister, Susan Cavagnaro of Pittsgrove; sister, Janice and husband John Phillips of Vineland; sister-in-law, Marianne Van Hook of North Carolina, sisters-in-law, Barbara and Jesse (Lyden) Cline of Vineland; sister-in-law, Freda (Lyden) and her husband Robert Morris of Vineland; brother-in-law, John and his wife Linda Lyden of Vineland; sister-in-law, Karen (Lyden) and her husband Tim Clifford of Vineland; brother-in-law, Russell and his wife Paula Lyden of Elmer; sister-in-law, Diane (Lyden) and Charles Petsche of Maryland and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2014 at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday morning from 10am to 11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested for the Newfield Ambulance Corps and the Newfield Fire Company.
