Obituary of Maureen Asselta

Maureen (Hanley) Asselta, 70, of Vineland passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Maureen was born in New York to the late John and Jay (Tasky) Hanley. At a young age, the family moved to Vineland, NJ. Maureen graduated in 1962 from Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, NJ. She also resided in Millville, NJ and West Palm Beach, Fla. Maureen enjoyed spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren) and friends. She also enjoyed going to the beach, travelling, playing tennis, playing Mahjong and sailing. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family accounting business, Asselta & Co. and led a full and active life. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Joseph Rocco Asselta and her son, Joseph Rocco Asselta, Jr. Maureen is survived by her son and daughter in law; Craig and Judy Asselta and grandchildren; Sophia Jo and Michael of Mays Landing, NJ, her son; Shawn Asselta and Melinda Mergen of Boca Raton, Fla., her sister and brother in law; Barbara and Rich Deaver of Boyton Beach, Fla., her brother in law and sister in law; John and Sandy Asselta of Vineland, NJ and nieces, nephew and many cousins. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 11am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Isidore's Church, 1655 Magnolia Rd, Vineland. Burial will be private. Family and friends will be received at the CHURCH on Saturday from 9am to 11am. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heartland Hospice 2111 New Rd. Northfield, NJ 08225.
