Obituary of Shawn Albert Aretz

Shawn Albert Aretz, 51 of South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 after an extended illness. Shawn was a plumber by trade. He was a proud Buena Regional High School graduate where he participated in football, cross country, golf and wrestling. He enjoyed his time volunteering alongside his brother, Brett as a coach for the Buena Braves Wrestling Team. Shawn was a member of the 1978-1979 wrestling team that was recently inducted into the Buena Athletic Hall of Fame. He excelled in wrestling and will always be known as the "Groove". Shawn is survived by his parents, Albert "Bert" and Joann (Kane) Aretz of Landisville; brother Darren and his daughters Abby and Kate of Minotola; brother Brett and his wife Chris and their children Brynn, Cael and Shea of Milmay; sister Stephanie Winkler and her husband John and their children Meghan and Ben of Minotola; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9am to 10am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Buena Athletic Hall of Fame c/o Scholarship Fund in memory of Shawn Aretz P.O. Box 2 Landisville, NJ 08326.
