Obituary of Cosmo Leone

Cosmo Leone, 92 of Buena Vista Township, N.J. passed away on January 9, 2015 after a brief illness. Cosmo was born in Buena to the late Philice and Florence (Fiori) Leone and was a lifelong township resident. Cosmo worked the family farm in Buena with his parents, and then served with the Army Air Corps, 2nd Airborn Division in Rapid City South Dakota during World War II. He was an insurance broker and worked in Real Estate. He was the Tax Assessor in Buena Vista Township for many years prior to starting his own business Tuckahoe Manufacturing with his wife Marian. Cosmo was a charter member of the Brunini Terrace Swim Club in Landisville, a member of the Buena Vista Exchange Club, and a member of St. Padre Pio Parish, St Mary's E. Vineland. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marian Leone (Tamanini), in 2008, he is survived by two daughters, Janet (Dan) Weber of Vineland and Linda (Ralph) Travaglione of Malaga, four grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Ashby, Dan (Sara) Weber, Ralph Dominic and Katie Travaglione, and four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Cosmo was predeceased by his brothers Bill and Phil, sisters Anna Lupi, Marie Chirico, Mamie Leone, and Angie Ametisti. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
