Obituary of Carmen M. Alonso
Please share a memory of Carmen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carmen Maria Alonso left her home in Newfield, NJ, for a new home in heaven on Sunday, March 1st. She is remembered and celebrated by her children and their spouses: daughter, Rose Munson and husband, Michael; daughter, Ivette Ramirez and husband, Richard; and son, Eric Lugo and wife Victoria. Her son Nelson Alonso Sr. was already awaiting her arrival in heaven. Carmen's legacy also includes 14 treasured grandchildren, 6 precious great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
Her family was her pride and joy, and she devoted her life and all her love to them. She had a bubbly, spunky personality, quick wit, strong character and generous heart. Her bright smile and ready laughter were always present, even in difficult times, and she was a persistent hardworker.
She loved sunshine, flowers, reading and inspirational music. Carmen was an enthusiastic member of Cross Roads Ministries in Newfield, and requested donations to be sent to the church at 308 N. West Blvd. Newfield, NJ, 08344 in lieu of flowers. She loved Jesus above all, and although she is greatly missed, her family takes comfort that she is rejoicing with the Lord. Her prayers and hopes have been realized, and she is dancing with Jesus. We look forward to the day we will be reunited.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, March 7th at 12noon and a gathering of family and friends will be from 11AM-1 PM at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
