Obituary of Noelia Galindez

Noelia Galíndez, 87, passed away the morning of December 17, 2015 at Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland, NJ, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Enrique Galíndez; her doting children: Gerson Borrero (Ruth Noemí Colón) of White Plains, NY, Victor M. Borrero (Yolanda) of New York City and Sandra Agostini (Efraín) of Vineland, NJ; as well as her adoring grandchildren: Julixa Newman, Christine Borrero, Taína Borrero, Victor M. Borrero, Jr., Jason Agostini, Gerson Felípe Borrero, and Elias Agostini. Noelia is also survived by nine siblings, and is predeceased by her brother, Alfonso Maldonado, who was also a Vineland resident. Born April 5, 1928 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Julia Rivera and Manuel Maldonado, Noelia Maldonado spent her early years in her place of birth. Noelia graduated from Ponce High School before moving to New York City in 1954. She worked in the jewelry district in New York City before relocating to Vineland, NJ in 1978. From that point on, Noelia was a devoted homemaker. She was a cheerful woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, and shopping. She also loved listening and dancing to Latin music. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Francis of Assisi Church, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Noelia will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Saturday at the CHURCH from 8:30-9:45am. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
