Jim has been our unit commissioner for over ten years. He was a reliable and very helpful. Besides that, he was a good friend with whom we enjoyed conversation and some laughs. Jim provided gear and encouragement to our troop, and helped us at campouts with the rifle shooting merit badge.
I will miss him, and offer my condolences to his sweet wife, who I only had the pleasure visiting with on rare occasions, and to his family and friends.

Scouting, as well as his family, will miss Jim. He has been a fixture in the movement as long as I can remember, perhaps going back to the '70's. We've lost a good one. May his memory be a blessing to his family and friends.

Cumberland District has lost a great Scouter and Volunteer. His dedication to Scouting and the youth he served was outstanding. He served Troop 10 with dignity and integrity.

I have fond memories of belonging to Troop 10, while Mr. Gardner was the Scoutmaster. We had a great group of scouts that he managed to keep in line, while at the same time organizing interesting trips and activities. He will be missed but also fondly remembered by many.
Peace be with you,
Brian Ferus

Jim will be missed so much by so many. He imparted so much of the history of East Point Lighthouse and a warm friendship to the members of the Maurice River Historical Society and the Friends of East Point Lighthouse. He was always there to lend a helping hand whenever he could. RIP Jim
