Obituary of Steven Mercado

Steven Mercado, 36, went home to be with the Lord on October 08, 2016. Steven was born on April 28, 1980 and grew up in Landisville, NJ. He attended Buena Schools and was a graduate of Buena Regional High School. He worked as a Card Dealer in Atlantic City and then traveled the world as a Card Dealer for Crystal Cruise Lines. Steven was also a Licensed Massage Therapist. He was currently enrolled in Cumberland County College with a Major in Social Work and a Minor in Music Production. Steven was a singer and songwriter and was known to win karaoke competitions. His favorite song to sing was "Purple Rain". He enjoyed playing the keyboard and attending music concerts. His hobbies included going to the movies and spending time with family and friends. He loved to laugh and to make those around him laugh. He is predeceased by grandparents; Elba and Hermenegildo Arce, Luz and Ismael Mercado and uncles, Adalberto Arce and Hector Mercado. He is survived by his mother and father, Miriam and Jose Mercado; brothers, Jose Mercado, Jr. and Andrew Mercado; sister, Jocelyn Mercado; nephew, Jared Mercado; nieces, Alyssa and Emily Mercado, and a large family of aunts, uncles, God sisters, cousins and countless loved ones and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 6pm to 9pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
