To: Pastors Morris & Odessa Rhodes & Family:
I am sorry that I cannot be there with you all today. Of course my heart was made sad to know that I will not see her again, here on earth, but it is lifted by the thought of seeing her again in glory!
She and her sister, Minister Doris Als, were prayer partners to me. These powerful women of God, acted as midwives as I travailed in the transition of my life from the East Coast to the Midwest. They prayed with me even up to the very night before I left twenty--five tears ago. Their impact on many lives was so great, that even after moving here, I met Bishop James Everett who was visiting from New Jersey, and as we got to know each other I mentioned their names. His face lit up as he shared how they prayed over him as a boy! All of the sisters I've met, have been so anointed!
Mother Rhodes, though I was her junior, always gave me the highest respect, but every now and then she would call me by my middle name, like my family, but no one could say it like her. By that I knew, that she loved me like family.
Certainly we hate for loved ones to leave us, but those who live for and serve the Lord as these did, we rejoice! Paul said in
2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are cinfident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." So, I believe this mighty prayer warrior is resting from her labor!
To the family, we love you and will continue to keep you in our prayers.
Lovingly submitted...
